The Fireye 70D40 is a semi-automatic solid-state burner control chassis designed for manually ignited oil and gas burners operating at 120 VAC. As part of Fireye’s D-Series burner management controls, it provides reliable ignition and flame failure protection, ensuring safe and efficient burner operation. The 70D40 chassis is compatible with plug-in amplifier modules that support various flame detection methods, including ultraviolet (UV), self-check UV, autocheck infrared (IR), and rectification, offering flexibility for different burner applications. It incorporates a safe start check mechanism to prevent burner initiation if a flame signal (real or simulated) is detected at startup, enhancing operational safety.

Equipped with three single-pole double-throw (SPDT) and one single-pole normally open (SPNO) load switches, the chassis can control external loads and starting circuits. The standard flame failure response time (FFRT) is four seconds, but this can be reduced to one second by selecting amplifier modules with a ‘T’ suffix, enabling quicker response to flame loss. The modular design allows for easy integration of amplifier modules, providing a customizable solution for various burner management requirements. With its robust features, the Fireye 70D40 ensures adaptability, safety, and dependable performance for a wide range of industrial combustion applications.
