pharma plant rush shipping express in stockThis week we had a busy Friday.  A Canadian customer of mine, a biopharmaceutical manufacturing plant in Ontario, had part of their assembly line go down, and it all boiled down to one part.  I was able to source the flame control 90 minutes away, so I had a quick road trip, tested the product quickly back in the shop, and we boxed it up.  The customer required Next-Day shipping because they were losing precious production time every minute the application needed maintenance.  Typically we use UPS for our reliable RED next day shipping, but in this case UPS was not able to ship the part internationally red over the weekend.  We drove to FedEx, and they were able to Express the package to Canada on Saturday before noon, and at a very reasonable cost.  The piece was re-packaged with a large amount of bubble tape to comply with all the insurance we were putting on the part.  Good to their word, the biopharmaceutical plant resumed a successful process control.
